Thanks so much to those of you who bought the Caden's Lullaby Promo Picture CD Singles I listed to raise funds for ARC. They are now sold out, which is why I have removed the merch listing. If you are one of the buyers of the single and my removal of the merch listing has removed your ability to stream Caden's Lullaby, again get in touch and I'll send you a free download code (I have all of your full names, but not email addresses, here). Thanks so much.
INFORMATION ABOUT CADEN'S LULLABY - DIGITAL SINGLE TRACK.
This is not a new track - I am moving it across my old ARC fundraising page and putting it here instead, for ease of admin.
This version of Caden's Lullaby features just my voice and piano accompaniment. The string quartet version of Caden's Lullaby can be heard on my album Wonderful Fairytale.
Through downloads of this stripped-back version of my song Caden’s Lullaby I am raising funds to help support the charity ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices), a small London-based charity which supports parents across the UK. ARC gave me and my husband Chris an immense amount of help and support in 2011, when we had to say goodbye during pregnancy to our baby Niall, who was seriously ill. The experience was devastating for me and will never leave me, and I don’t know how I would have got through that time without accessing the support that ARC offered.
ARC also supported me through my subsequent pregnancy, as I struggled with fear, anxiety and worry until our baby, Caden, was born in late 2012. We are so lucky to have Caden, and his presence has brought great joy to our whole family, although we never forget our third baby, Niall.
When you purchase this song download, all profits go straight to ARC. Your donation will help to maintain the information and support services they offer to parents who need them, including their telephone and email Helpline, their members-only Forum, their volunteer Support Network, and their website (amongst others). ARC (registered charity number 1148653) is a very small charity which doesn’t easily attract funding, so your support will make a huge difference to them. You can find out more about ARC by visiting their website at www.arc-uk.org.
Sleep, my little bonny boy,
Dream away the long night,
Just close your eyes my tired one
‘Til the first morning light.
For your Mam is worn out,
Your dad is tired too,
And the lads, snug in their beds,
They are dreaming for you.
You’ve had milk, I’ve held you close,
Now you’re drowsy, warm and dry,
Lullabies I have sung for you,
So why do you cry?
Dream of Dom on his guitar,
As you loudly drum along,
Dream of Sean on his fiddle,
Their love makes you strong.
One day soon you’ll be a man,
With a family of your own,
Then we’ll miss the cry at midnight,
And our old noisy home.

New music Friday! Sang to us every morning for 50 days. Played live every Thursday for I don't know how long. Long enough for me to finally get a job and be confident in a little splurge. Stunningly talented and takes care of her fans like nobody's business. Waiting patiently for the CD because I'm retro AF. I'm going to assume it's terrific 😃 markvagabond

Eoghainn Iain Alasdair and the stomp of Rise ye Lazy Fellow are my favourite tunes on this album. The album has a much simpler feel than The Seer, perhaps reflecting more the traditional arrangements of small Highland communities. I didn't like the synth on Crow Road Croft as it doesn't feel in keeping with the folk arrangements, but what do I know? Master of Alchemy
